Hectrix Limited licenses Legic's secure Contactless smart card technology for its ACTAtek series of web-based biometric and smart card products.
LEGIC Identsystems Ltd, one of the world's leading suppliers of secure Contactless smart card technology, has licensed its secure Contactless smart card technology to Hectrix Ltd.
Hectrix Limited was established to address the proliferated smart card, biometric and Internet-server applications market needs with the clear objective and mission of linking the Internet world to the physical realm. Moreover, its approach on modular build allows its line of products to be integrated with a range of devices for the different modules attached, such as the fingerprint sensor, card reader, and built-in camera - to name a few. The LEGIC Contactless smart card is one such modular integration for customers worldwide.
Hectrix Limited has developed a range of well-branded biometric fingerprint and smart card systems for use in access control and time and attendance applications, which is marked under the name of ACTAtek. The ACTAtek has all necessary software and hardware built-in to the system, including network support. ACTAtek can be used in a standalone mode or in a multi-unit environment without the need of a costly & complex dedicated architecture.
For access control use, ACTAtek can operate in a multi-device environment in various scenarios, from residential, remote offices to multi-location offices - locally or worldwide. By enhancing efficiency, it optimizes cost-savings and maximizes revenues. In time and attendance mode, it is particularly suited for use by hotels, restaurants, hospitals, universities, and such where staff almost always work in shifts and it is critical for management to accurately log attendance on and off the premises.
Thomas Wan, Chairman & CEO of Hectrix Ltd, mentions, "By becoming a LEGIC licensed partner, we are now able to make use of the highly secure and flexible Smart Card technology developed by LEGIC. Their multi-application technology will now make it possible for us to offer a variety of fully flexible solutions in access control, time and attendance, parking, biometric, and multi-application card systems that perfectly matches the needs of our customers in Asia, Europe, and the USA."
Klaus Klosa, Managing Director of Legic Identsystems Ltd, says: "Hectrix is a fast moving company with an excelling reputation for the innovative use of technology across a wide range of cutting edge applications. They will be a great asset to LEGIC and we're very pleased they have decided to join us and become our licensed business partner."
