i. Direct connection Connect a cross LAN cable (black one which came with the box) directly in between a PC/notebook and an ACTAtek. Make sure you turn off the DHCP of your PC/Laptop and assign an Static IP to your PC/Laptop, eg. 192.168.1.10. Open a web browser in your PC/Laptop and type in the IP address of the ACTAtek Terminal, which by default is 192.168.1.100, and you will see the login page.
ii. LAN connection Connect a normal LAN cable(RJ-45) (white one which came with the box) in between a PC/Laptop and a hub. Open a web browser in your PC/Laptop and type in the IP address of the ACTAtek Terminal, which by default is 192.168.1.100, and you will get the login page.
1. If an ACTAtek Primary has to be replaced, and the new ACTAtek device is set up exactly as the original, will the secondary devices replicate the employee records to that of the Primary unit?
Yes, as long as the IP is set up correctly for the new Primary unit (i.e. it has to be the same as the replaced Primary).
