ACTAtek Agent

The ACTAtek Agent is primarily used to download the event log data from the ACTAtek database in real time and without any hassle. It saves time and administrative efforts in having to backup the data from the ACTAtek to a local computer manually. The data can be saved in ODBC/JDBC formats for easy integration with third party applications.

Overview

The ACTAtek Agent is a PC based application software that allows you to download the event log data from the ACTAtek device in real time, provided the network connection is up and running and the devices are properly configured. The data can then be saved in ODBC, Oracle, PostgreSQL, mySQL, and other JDBC databases.

It automatically creates a table and downloads ALL punches for either time attendance reporting or integration with payroll applications that accept ODBC/JDBC data structure. The Agent is easy to install and operate for any database technican or user.

System Requirements

1. Java Run-time 1.4 or higher. To download the JAVA Run-time, please visit http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html.
2. ACTAtek Firmware Version 1.05 or higher.
3. Please make sure both the ACTAtek Firmware version and ACTAtek Agent version are as close as possible.

ACTAtek Agent Setup Screen

Once installed, the ACTAtek Agent will load the following screen. There are 3 tabs - Agent Info - Database - ACTAteks. The first step would be to setup the database (ODBC/JDBC) on your local PC or server. Once successfully setup, link the Agent to the "Database" tab and filling in the necessary information.















ACTAtek Agent Log Viewer

Once successfully setup, the log viewer (database) can be opened to check the data gathered. The data collected include the User ID, Time entry, Event ID and Terminal serial number. This data can either be manipulated in Access Database to generate time attendance reports, or exported to third party applications, including payroll and other HR software.
