The External Relay provides for an added security measure for the ACTAtek when it is used for Access Control and installed outdoors. It is a secure relay that is connected to the ACTAtek and hidden within office premises, where nobody has access to trip the door lock.

Overview


The Secure External Relay provides an extra layer of security when an ACTAtek is installed outdoors (of either a office building or a residential area). With the external relay, you can now install an ACTAtek outdoors without having to worry about the connection being tipped or wires crossed by intruders! This increases security in your office / residential premises without the need for expensive monitoring devices.

How does it work?

The external relay is used to connect the door strike to the ACTAtek indirectly. The door strike (magnetic or electric) is connected to the external relay, which is stored within secure premises and hidden.


     

With this optional controller, ACTAtek sends a special signal to this controller to open the door, rather than directly opening the door with the internal relay. With this optional controller is installed inside the premises, it is now impossible for the intruders to get into the premises, even if they try to trip the ACTAtek.
